DeCavitte Properties has established a reputation as a custom builder of fine luxury homes in Southlake, Westlake and Colleyville for over 25 years.

Clients rely on DeCavitte Properties to create their luxury home personalized to suit their lifestyle. Founder Dean DeCavitte communicates with clients throughout the process, personally supervising construction to assure each client’s investment receives the priority and attention it deserves.
“Our team members are all are highly skilled professionals at the top of their game,” Dean says. “From the architects, designers, title company and all of our fantastic trade professionals, you can trust DeCavitte Properties to do things the right way, without cutting corners.”
Details matter
DeCavitte Properties is known for bringing the art of modern living to life. A home should be beautiful, but also make efficient use of space in a practical and livable way and offer privacy and energy efficiency with minimal maintenance.
This boutique-size builder of luxury custom homes uses the best appliances, lighting, countertops, paint, flooring, cabinets, plumbing fixtures and all the things you see every day. There’s also a hidden quality behind the walls that you can rely on, ensuring that your custom home is superior both inside and out.
“Home trends, design, materials and technology are constantly evolving, so we work to integrate these changes into our homes as we present possibilities to our clients. We like to put the ‘cool’ into every home,” Dean notes.
Dean can take an inspirational thought, photo or idea and integrate that wow factor, working with his team to make the client’s dream a reality.
Popular trends today
“Home designs continue to get cleaner. Modern is ‘in’ and here to stay for the foreseeable future. However, modern and contemporary mean different things to different people, so we stay on the cutting edge in that regard,” Dean says.
The use of glass in almost anything you can think of - staircases, countertops, backsplashes, doors, partitions, wine displays, floating shelves and more – is also in. LED accent lighting brings that extra touch to enhance the look.
“All things large are also popular,” Dean says, “like windows and floor-to-ceiling glass. The trick is to create privacy with all that glass – that’s where practicality comes in. We are also seeing larger tile with less grout lines, and colors are moving toward the warmer tones of taupe, blue and green to build on the palate of black, whites and greys of the last few years.”
Should you build or buy your custom home?
“Be realistic with both budget and timing, because to design and build is more of a marathon than a 100-yard dash. That’s why we always have spec homes available for purchase, because not everyone wants to build a home from scratch – and more times than not, they want or need the home quickly,” Dean notes.
Knowing you’ll be treated fairly by an experienced, trustworthy builder like DeCavitte Properties can go a long way toward a good experience. Your home is a big investment and its lasting value should be engineered to provide the results you desire.
Local connections you can trust
Dean and his wife Michelle are connected to the local community, living, working, playing, attending church and having raised their children in Southlake. The family knows how incredible the Southlake schools are, and how special it is to be a Dragon.
